Results of the Council of States Election in the Canton of Vaud

The canton of Vaud in Switzerland held elections for the Ständerat, the upper house of the Swiss Federal Assembly, on October 22nd. Pierre-Yves Maillard of the Social Democratic Party was elected to the Ständerat with 97,407 votes, the absolute majority. A second round of voting will take place on November 12th to determine the second seat.
