Roof of rectory in the canton of Geneva goes up in flames

The roof of a rectory in Chêne-Bourg GE was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday afternoon. According to the fire department, they were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which had spread to 80 square meters. No one was injured.
The alarm was raised at 2.20 p.m., according to the Geneva fire department. It was on the scene with five vehicles, including an ambulance. 25 professional firefighters were deployed. They were supported by the militia fire department from Chêne-Bourg.
Workers were erecting scaffolding when the fire broke out in the roof of the rectory of the Saint-François de Sales church. An investigation was launched to determine the cause of the fire.
