From tomorrow, Friday, one lane of the A13 near Lostallo GR, which was destroyed by the storms, will be open to traffic again. The pass road over the San Bernardino is also open to traffic. However, the San Bernardino route is not completely open to traffic without restrictions.

Even after the partial opening, the A13 does not have the usual capacity, wrote the Federal Roads Office (Astra) in June. The reasons for this are the reduced speed and the traffic routing in two-way traffic. It is likely to be the end of the year before the section of road that was washed away by the floods is open to two lanes of traffic as usual.

The cantonal road between Grono and Lostallo will also remain reserved for local traffic due to the clearing work, as the canton of Graubünden wrote on Thursday. However, travelers with a destination between Lostallo and Grono, in particular tourist traffic with proof of a reservation, may also use the road.

The clearing and repair work in the affected area will continue for several weeks, the report continued. The construction vehicles are dependent on using the cantonal road. The authorities therefore want to keep as much traffic as possible away from the road.
