The traditional Swiss company Stewi has been saved from closure after being taken over by Liechtenstein-based Reichardt AG at the beginning of the year. The Reichardt Unternehmungen, which are involved in plastic and metal processing, have taken over the entire Stewi-Gruppe. The new location of the Stewi-Gruppe will be moved from Winterthur to Saland ZH by the beginning of 2024. Production and assembly operations will remain in Switzerland and all jobs will be preserved with minimal fluctuation. All sales and delivery chains will remain in place. Financial details of the takeover were not disclosed. Stephan Ebnöther will leave the group at the end of August, while Felix Reichardt will take over the operational leadership of the group from September 1. Lorenz Fäh will remain in the Stewi management and board. Stewi had previously announced that it would cease production of its products at the end of September 2023 and dissolve by the end of the year after 77 years. The efforts to transfer Stewi in its current form to new owners had unfortunately failed. The company's headquarters would have had to make way for a new building, while the Stewi building in the Winterthur Grüze quarter will be demolished.nnnnnnnnnn
