From the beginning of November, travelers will also be able to purchase international train journeys on the SBB mobile app on their smartphone. According to a press release issued on Thursday, SBB is fulfilling a frequently expressed customer need with this additional sales channel.

It will be possible to book daytime connections to Switzerland's neighboring countries and the BeNeLux countries via the SBB mobile app - but "for the time being" no tickets for night trains.

From November, SBB will also be offering international travel to London, Bratislava and Barcelona as well as other connections to neighboring countries on the SBB mobile app. Until now, such tickets and reservations could be purchased or made via the SBB website and travel centers.

The new options can already be tested in an SBB cell phone application from (today) Thursday. It is called "SBB Preview". Individual functions of the new options for purchasing international tickets and reservations are not yet available on this app, SBB writes. However, these will be added on an ongoing basis.
