Schedule for the Publication of Results in the Cantons

The results of the Swiss National Council and Council of States elections held today are expected to be published at different times. According to estimates from Keystone-SDA, the results of the National Council election are expected to be published between 8pm and 9pm, while the results of the Council of States election are expected to be published between 10pm and 11pm. The results of the elections will be available on the websites of the cantons and the Federal Chancellery.
The National Council is the lower house of the Swiss Federal Assembly and is composed of 200 members elected by the people. The Council of States is the upper house of the Federal Assembly and is composed of 46 members elected by the cantons. The results of the elections will determine the composition of the Federal Assembly for the next four years.
The Swiss Federal Assembly is the legislative body of the Swiss Confederation and is responsible for enacting laws, approving the federal budget, and electing the Swiss Federal Council. The Federal Council is the executive body of the Swiss Confederation and is composed of seven members elected by the Federal Assembly.
The results of the National Council and Council of States elections will be closely watched as they will determine the composition of the Federal Assembly and the Federal Council for the next four years.
