The Swiss Economic Forum puts various young companies on the big stage on Friday. When the Swiss business elite meet in Interlaken once a year, it is always an opportunity for start-ups to present themselves to the company bosses present and to network.

On the second and final day of the event, the nine finalists for the "SEF Award" entrepreneur prize will present their business model to the audience. Three companies each from the fields of production/commerce, deep tech/life science and services are aiming to win the prizes worth CHF 25,000.

How the jury decides who has the most potential and can leave the stage with the trophy will be explained to the audience by jury president Caspar Coppetti. The co-founder of running shoe manufacturer On knows from his own experience how to make it from a start-up to a listed company worth billions. Together with venture capitalist Daniel Gutenberg, he will talk about the start-up scene and explore the question of whether young companies are currently facing tough times.

The winner of the SEF Women's Award and founder of the nursing freelancer portal WeNurse, Alessia Schrepfer, will discuss the "Next Generation" together with the President of the Zurich FDP, Matthias Müller. Parag Khanna, CEO of AlphaGeo, a company that analyzes climate-related risks with the help of AI, will talk about which societies will "win" the 21st century.

However, not only the very small, but also the very large companies are represented at the SEF. For example, the head of Syngenta, Jeff Rowe, will be speaking about sustainable nutrition for a growing population. Ypsomed CEO and National Councillor Simon Michel will shed light on Swiss economic policy in his presentation and VW manager Thomas Schäfer will answer the question of whether the electric revolution in the automotive industry is already over.

Professional footballer Lia Wälti, journalist Yalda Hakim and economic philosopher Anders Inset will also be appearing at the SEF.
