Servette fans attack security forces after game in Winterthur

Servette FC supporters did not just riot in the stadium after the Cup match in Winterthur ZH on Sunday evening. According to the police, they attacked police officers on the way to the station and vandalized a station underpass.

Servette FC supporters, some of whom were masked, attacked police officers in front of and inside Winterthur train station, the Zurich cantonal police reported on Monday. The chaotic individuals used stones, fireworks, projectiles and batons. One police officer was slightly injured by a pyrotechnic object.

The police used rubber bullets and irritants to bring the situation under control.

In the station underpass, ceiling elements, among other things, fell down due to projectiles being thrown. In the special train, the rioters tore fire extinguishers from their holders and sprayed their contents.

Riots broke out in the Schützenwiese stadium immediately after the end of the match. Among other things, burning pyro flares were thrown towards the crowd.
