Several hours of disruption to the Swisscom mobile network

Telecom provider Swisscom experienced a disruption to its mobile network lasting several hours on Thursday morning. Making calls via the mobile network, sending text messages and using the mobile Internet were impaired for certain customers.
The disruption lasted around two and a half hours, as the company announced on its website. It did not provide any information on the reasons.
According to the service Allestörungen.ch, people were affected in the cities of Zurich, Lucerne, Bern and Basel, among others. Several cantons reported that emergency services had to be called via the landline network or another provider. In some cases, emergency calls were interrupted after ten seconds.
