At the end of the feminist strike day, several thousand people took part in a colorful rally in Bern on Friday evening. The parade took place under the slogan "Solidary, feminist, anti-racist."
The authorized procession led from Schützenmatte near the Reitschule to Kornhausplatz and from there to Bundesplatz. Several speeches were held there afterwards. The rally, organized by the feminist strike collective Bern, was peaceful.
The protest was accompanied by music, slogans and banners such as "Mir si immer no hässig" or "Nur ja heisst ja", as reported by a correspondent from the Keystone-SDA news agency. According to the collective, these messages were intended to draw attention to "exploitative and discriminatory power structures".
Speeches and workshops had already taken place on the Bundesplatz in the afternoon before the rally, and a choir had sung.
According to the collective, the strike day was open to all genders. Men were asked to show solidarity and "do support work in the background".
