Sika is making another acquisition. The construction chemicals group acquires the family-owned company Vinaldom, a manufacturer of concrete construction products from the Dominican Republic, for an undisclosed price.
The acquisition strengthens Sika's presence in the Caribbean, where the Swiss group now has a sixth plant, according to a press release issued on Friday. Specifically, the takeover opens up "significant cross-selling opportunities".
Furthermore, the acquisition means that Sika is now well positioned to benefit from the growth trends in the infrastructure and commercial construction sectors in the Dominican Republic. All employees of the family-owned company Vinaldom, which was founded in 1968, will be taken over, according to the information provided.
