The snowfall limit in Switzerland dropped to just below 2000 meters on Monday night, according to Meteonews. On Monday morning, the higher Alpine passes were partly covered in snow, as seen in a picture shared by Meteonews on X. On Sunday, the snowfall limit had already dropped to between 2200 and 2400 meters, according to Meteonews. Snow at 2000 meters in the summer is a rare occurrence, happening every two to three years. However, sometimes it can snow even lower in the Alps during the summer, such as in mid-June 2016 when it snowed down to 1500 meters.nnnn
