At the SP party conference in Davos, the delegates unanimously adopted a resolution from the SP Women's Party calling for adequate protection for victims. They also called for a demonstration to kick off the 16 Days against Violence against Women on November 23 in Bern.

Every day, an average of 100 people affected by violence in Switzerland seek advice from victim support centers, the SP women said at the party conference in Davos on Saturday. Three out of four people receiving advice are female. However, many victims do not seek help.

In a resolution, the Social Democratic Party therefore calls on the cantons and the federal government to create sufficient shelters and advice centers. Furthermore, these services should be publicized nationwide so that those seeking help can make use of them. And finally, access to these support services should be low-threshold and non-discriminatory.
