SRF online on the 13th AVH pension

Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen SRF comments on the Yes to the 13th AHV pension and the No to the pension initiative as follows:
"The Yes to a 13th AHV pension is more than just a Yes to a popular initiative by the trade unions. It is a historic decision: it is the first social policy initiative from the left to achieve a majority. (...) However, the political rifts remain: Here the political left, which wanted to strengthen the AHV as the most social pillar of old-age provision, there the bourgeois parties, which always referred to the second and third pillars. (...) The Federal Council can now propose whether financing should be realized through higher salary contributions or higher levies. It currently covers one fifth of AHV expenditure. In the end, everyone will probably make their contribution - in one way or another."
