The Swiss startup sector is on course for record growth this year. According to the industry association startups.ch, growth is being driven primarily by the boom in artificial intelligence (AI).
After last year's setback, the startup sector is heading for a record-high number of new companies in 2023, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. Specifically, the number of new companies entered in the commercial register is likely to rise to around 52,000 for the first time.
This would be an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous year. Growth is currently being driven primarily by the AI sector. This is creating a lot of momentum and is particularly in demand in the area of consulting or AI-based applications such as the programming of bots.
