The storm depression "Henk" over Denmark also caused a stormy day in Switzerland on Wednesday. A gale-force gust of 140 kilometers per hour was measured on the Säntis in the evening. But it also blew strongly in low-lying areas, in Egolzwil LU for example with 118 km/h.
The strongest winds occurred in many places in the evening with the passage of a line of showers, as MeteoSwiss reported on the short message service X. The strongest gusts, mainly from the southwest and west, were recorded on the Chasseral BE (136 km/h) and on the Hörnli (125 km/h) in addition to the Säntis.
There were also strong storms in the lowlands, for example in Neuchâtel (104 km/h) and Steckborn TG (99 km/h). According to the meteorologists, the wind is expected to subside over the course of Thursday.
