The Palestine protests have now reached the University of Zurich: the main building has been occupied, wrote the "Students for Palestine" group in a press release on Tuesday.
"We hereby join the international, peaceful solidarity movement with Palestine," reads the statement.
As at other universities, the protesters are demanding a clear position from their university: the University of Zurich has a duty to break the silence on human rights violations. They are also demanding an academic boycott of Israeli institutions and companies "that are involved in the genocide in any way".
According to their statement, the squatters want to stay until their demands have been heard and accepted.
