Susi Eppenberger-Egger, former National Councillor from St. Gallen, has passed away

Former National Councillor Susi Eppenberger-Egger has died at the age of 92. The third FDP National Councillor from St. Gallen was a member of the National Council from 1979 to 1991. Eppenberger-Egger's political focus was on foreign and development policy.

The former National Councillor passed away last Sunday, according to the obituary published by family members on Thursday. Eppenberger-Egger was a native of Appenzell. She worked as the administrative manager of her husband's veterinary clinic in Nesslau SG.

As a politician, she campaigned for animal welfare. In 1992, Eppenberger-Egger was one of the first women to be elected to the St. Gallen Cantonal Council
