Two party delegate assemblies are scheduled for Saturday in Switzerland. The delegates of the SVP will meet in Leuk VS. And Green Party members will meet in Basel.
In addition to speeches by party president Marcel Dettling (NR/SZ) and parliamentary group president Thomas Aeschi (NR/ZG), a panel discussion and the election of a replacement for the party executive committee, the SVP's program also included the adoption of a position on the biodiversity initiative. The voters will decide on these proposals on September 22.
Dettling wanted to give a speech on "Left-wing immigration and asylum policy". And Aeschi wanted to comment on the "asylum chaos" and the border protection initiative. The initiative was launched by the SVP at the end of May this year. The text of the initiative stipulates, among other things, that Switzerland's borders should be monitored and people entering the country should be systematically checked.
Greens with resolution
The Greens wanted to adopt the slogan for the BVG reform. The adoption of a resolution entitled "Biodiversity and agriculture belong together" is also planned. The food protection initiative will also be a topic, they announced in advance.
The Greens also wanted to adopt two slogans for the vote on November 24. On this date, voters will decide on the reform of healthcare financing, the expansion of the highway network and two proposals for changes to tenancy law. At the delegates' meeting in Basel, the Greens will address the health insurance law and the tenancy law.
