In the canton of St. Gallen, the results of the 2019 "Climate Election" have been partially corrected: the SVP regained its lost seat and now has five of the twelve St. Gallen seats. All eleven incumbents running for the twelve St. Gallen National Council seats were re-elected. The only free seat was from the Green Liberal Thomas Brunner, who did not run again. This seat was taken by the SVP. The SVP achieved a voter share of 34.5% on Sunday, an increase of 3.2% compared to 2019. However, this result is still below the best result of 2015, when the party even achieved 36.3%.
For FDP and Mitte, the elections were ultimately unspectacular. They were able to keep their two seats each, but they were also unable to gain a seat. The "Climate Alliance", a list alliance of Green Liberals, Greens and SP, was only able to keep three of its four seats on Sunday. While the SP recorded neither a gain nor a loss in voter share (12.7%), this was different for the other two parties: the Green voter share fell from 10.5% to 8.7%, and the Green Liberal voter share fell from 7.3% to 5.8%.
In the Ständerat elections, the two incumbents Benedikt Würth (Mitte) and Esther Friedli (SVP) achieved a start-to-finish victory. Benedikt Würth received 88,888 votes and Esther Friedli 88,134 votes. The absolute majority was 77,363 votes. Arbër Bullakaj of the SP came in third with 24,373 votes.
