Flexibility in the organization of working hours is becoming increasingly important for employees. Many would like to reduce their workload and organize their working hours flexibly.
According to a representative study by the temporary staffing company association Swissstaffing, flexible working hours are important for 80 percent of the employees surveyed. But only just over half are able to work this way.
A third of those surveyed would also like to reduce their workload. In contrast, only 13 percent would like to increase it, according to the study. In addition, half of those not in employment would work if they could organize their working hours and workload flexibly, according to another result of the study.
According to Swissstaffing, the study thus shows the importance of meeting the need for flexible working hours by modernizing the legal framework in order to make better use of domestic employment potential in the current shortage of skilled workers.
The study, which is representative in terms of age, gender and language region, was commissioned by the industry association Swissstaffing from the JRC Zurich Institute. A total of 1230 people in Switzerland aged between 18 and 70 were surveyed.
