In July, Swiss hotels experienced a 3.2% increase in overnight stays compared to the same month in the previous year. This was mainly due to an increase in foreign tourists, who generated 13% more overnight stays than in the previous year. Swiss guests, however, booked 6.5% fewer overnight stays. This means that the Swiss hotel industry is still on track to set a new record in 2023, with an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous record year of 2019. The Swiss Federal Statistical Office will publish the definitive and absolute figures for overnight stays and further information on hotel overnight stays in July on September 5th.nnnnnnnnnn
