Swiss Lotto jackpot grows to 65 million francs

The Swiss Lotto jackpot was not hit again on Wednesday. It has now grown to 65 million francs. The next draw will take place next Saturday.
To win the jackpot, you would have had to match the numbers 3, 9, 23, 27, 33 and 38. The lucky number was 1, the rePLAY was 1 and the Joker was 5, 3, 2, 6, 3 and 8, as the lottery company Swisslos announced on Wednesday evening. One winner nevertheless won one million francs that evening. They picked six numbers correctly.
The biggest Swisslos jackpot ever won was a good seven years ago: 70 million francs were up for grabs in December 2016. However, three participants had to share the jackpot. They each received 23.4 million francs.
If just one person picks the six correct numbers and the lucky number on Saturday, it would be a record win in the 50-year history of Swiss Lotto. The biggest win to date by a single person was achieved in 2014: On August 23, a lucky player with the numbers 3, 4, 7, 21, 22, 23 and the lucky number 2 scooped a sum of 48,598,075 francs and 75 centimes.
According to Swisslos, 173 players have become millionaires since the game was introduced in 1970.
