A special Swiss flight brought the passengers affected by an emergency landing in Graz to Zurich on Tuesday. In the incident on Monday with smoke in the cabin, a crew member was seriously injured.
The crew member required intensive medical care, according to the Styrian police. He was flown to hospital by helicopter.
According to Swiss, during the flight of the Airbus A220 from Bucharest to Zurich, engine problems had occurred and smoke had spread in the cabin and cockpit. After landing, the passengers and crew had to leave the aircraft via emergency slides. Graz Airport was closed for several hours.
According to Swiss, five crew members and twelve passengers sought medical treatment after the incident.
A replacement plane took off from Graz on Tuesday morning, as an airport spokeswoman told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request. The passengers had spent the night in hotels.
