Swiss Rita Famos leads the Protestant churches of Europe

Rita Famos, the leading Swiss Reformed Church, is now also the head of an important international organization of Protestant churches: The Community of Protestant Churches in Europe has elected her as its Executive President.
The election of the President of the Protestant Reformed Church of Switzerland (CPCE) took place on Saturday in Sibiu, Romania, as the CPCE announced on Monday. The Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) came to an end on Monday in the city known as Sibiu in Romanian.
Famos will form the presidium of the organization together with the Lutheran Bishop Marko Titus from Estonia and the German theology professor Georg Plasger, it was reported.
According to the communiqué, around 100 Lutheran, Methodist, Reformed and United churches from over 30 countries in Europe and South America with around 50 million members belong to the CPCE. "The network of Protestant Churches in Europe connects Protestants throughout Europe between Russia and Portugal, Iceland and Greece," Famos was quoted as saying in the press release.
