Jadwiga Kowalska has won an award for her Swiss entry at the animated film festival in Annecy, France. Her animated road movie "The Car that came back from the Sea" won the Prix France TV for a short film.

In the animated road movie "The car that came back from the sea", six friends set off for the Polish Baltic Sea in a small, wrecked car. During the journey, both their car and their country fall apart, but life goes on.

The 11-minute film by Kowalska, who was born in Bern and lives in Lucerne, celebrated its premiere at the Winterthur International Short Film Festival, was shown in Solothurn and was nominated for the Swiss Film Award.

Six other Swiss films were shortlisted by the Annecy Animation Film Festival, which took place throughout the week and ended on Saturday: two feature-length films and five short films.
