Switzerland joins task force against Hamas funding

Switzerland is involved in an international task force against the financing of Hamas. The "Counter Terrorist Financing Taskforce - Israel" (CTFTI) was founded following the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, as the USA announced on Monday.
Among other things, the CTFTI is intended to consolidate and strengthen efforts to combat international financial flows to Hamas, according to a statement from the US Treasury Department. The members of the task force also include Australia, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. The Tamedia titles were the first in Switzerland to report on Wednesday about Switzerland joining the CTFTI.
The authorities responsible for combating money laundering in these countries are involved in the task force, as stated in the press release. The so-called "Financial Intelligence Units" (FIU). In Switzerland, this is the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS), which is part of the Federal Office of Police (Fedpol). Until Wednesday morning, there was no announcement on its website about joining the CTFTI.
