In Switzerland, there is no national statistics on violence against children and youth due to the lack of legal framework. However, such a statistic is important in order to plan and provide support. Various organizations and institutions are involved in the protection of children and youth, but the data is fragmented and there are gaps. The cantons and municipalities are primarily responsible for the protection of children and youth. The federal government does not have the necessary technical infrastructure, personnel and funds to collect data. It is therefore recommended that the cantons and intercantonal conferences provide the necessary data for the planning of aid offers. The Federal Office of Justice should also be consulted for a statistic on minors placed outside the family.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
