On Sunday, a ten kilometer long traffic jam formed in front of the Gotthard North Portal between Erstfeld and Göschenen, with a waiting time of one hour and forty minutes. Already in the early morning, the TCS traffic service reported traffic overload at Gotthard. By 1 pm, the traffic jam had steadily grown. On Saturday, at the start of the summer holidays in the canton of Zurich, a sheet of metal formed in front of the Gotthard, with a traffic jam of up to 15 kilometers, corresponding to a waiting time of two hours and thirty minutes.
