The city of La-Chaux-de-Fonds NE was recently hit by a powerful storm, and the city council is looking to the future. An extraordinary loan of around ten million francs is being proposed to cover the costs of the storm, including overtime for city staff, building damage, and tree replanting. There will be no special aid for businesses, but all businesses are expected to be back to full operation by Monday. The city is also planning to launch a donation campaign to help with reforestation, as 3500 trees were uprooted or damaged in the city alone, and 35,000 in the entire Neuchâtel Jura region. The new school year will start as normal on Monday, and the historic museum and International Clock Museum will reopen on Tuesday. Swiss Defence Minister Viola Amherd will also be visiting the city on Tuesday to meet with the soldiers helping with the repairs. The Swiss charity Glückskette is considering whether to support the devastated city, and a decision is expected next week.nnnnnnnn
