The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health is launching a nationwide campaign, "Get Vaccinated Against Flu and Covid-19", targeting people at increased risk of complications from both infections. The campaign will start on Monday and run until November 19th, as announced by the Federal Office of Public Health.
The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) is providing advice to people over 65 years of age and those with pre-existing conditions. This advice can be found in various magazines, on screens, and online in the health sector.
Almost everyone in Switzerland has already come into contact with the coronavirus and their immune system has dealt with the virus. For people without risk factors, the current virus variants usually cause mild courses of illness. However, those at risk are more likely to experience a severe course of the disease.
The flu can also be serious. It can sometimes lead to serious complications. The annual flu vaccine is recommended to protect against this, as the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) has written. It is also recommended for people at higher risk of complications.
