The Swiss Federal Council has released 180 million Swiss francs from the Railway Expansion Program "Future Development of Railway Infrastructure" (ZEB) for railway expansion projects. 127 million francs of this will be used for already approved projects and inflation compensation. 53 million francs will be used for the expansion and modernization of the Lausanne-Palézieux VD line, which will benefit commuters between Lausanne and Bern. This money will be used to build a new signal box, replace existing train parking spaces and make adjustments to the signalling system. The ZEB program is the successor to the Bahn 2000 program. Including the current agreements, the Swiss Federal Council has now released over 95% of the allocated funds.nnnnnnnnnn
