The world's largest Swiss flag was once again unfurled on the Säntis on the day before the national holiday. Last year, the event had to be postponed due to unstable weather and strong winds.

Workers working at height mounted the 80 by 80 meter flag on the north face of Eastern Switzerland's local mountain in summer weather on Wednesday. They abseiled down the rock face and unfurled the flag, as a correspondent from the Keystone-SDA news agency reported.

The campaign takes place every year on the national holiday. When the weather is fine, the flag can be seen not only from Schwägalp, but also from far and wide in eastern Switzerland. Workers at height unfurled an oversized Swiss flag on the Säntis for the first time on July 31, 2009.
