The motto of Bregenz Spring 2025 is “Universe Unbound”

The Bregenz Spring Dance Festival 2025 will be held under the motto "Universe Unbound - Exploring the Freedom of Infinity". Organized by the Cultural Service of the City of Bregenz, international contemporary dance companies will once again be performing at the Bregenz Festspielhaus from March this year.
The 38th edition of the festival will open on March 8 with the Austrian premiere of "Deepstaria" by British company Wayne McGregor. "New Earth" by choreographer Shahar Binyamini, a further development of his work "More Than", celebrates its world premiere on April 5. For "Bolero X", the second work of the evening, he reinterpreted Maurice Ravel's "Bolero" with the involvement of students from BA Contemporary Dance and the Zurich University of the Arts.
On April 12, "Contre-nature" by Rachid Ouramdane will be shown. On May 3, Emanuel Gat will make a guest appearance in Bregenz with his new production "Freedom Sonata", in which he questions power relations and social structures. Inspired by the Portuguese folias of the 15th century, exuberant folk dances, is "A Folia", the work by Marco da Silva Ferreira, which will be shown on May 31. Also to be seen on this date is "Static Shot" by Maud Le Pladec with the dancers of the "CNN - Ballet de Lorraine", which will transform cinematic techniques into movement.
As an extension of the festival, the aktionstheater ensemble will then present its performance "Ragazzi del Mondo - Nur eine Welt" at the Theater Kosmos in Bregenz from 26 to 29 June, which deals with questions of togetherness. The "Bregenzer Frühling" dance festival takes place from March 8 to June 29.
