The Swiss National Council has passed a motion proposed by Bruno Storni (SP/TI) to make it easier to convert vehicles with combustion engines to electric motors. Storni argued that the current regulations and regulations make such conversions practically impossible from an economic point of view and that converting used vehicles is an opportunity that should be taken advantage of. Environment Minister Albert Rösti responded that it is already possible to obtain a "conversion type approval" for the serial conversion of combustion to electric motors. However, for individual vehicles, the Federal Council does not want to make any further concessions, as they must remain safe. The motion will now be sent to the Council of States.
