The “NZZ” on the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump

The "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" commented on the attempted assassination of US presidential candidate Donald Trump in its online edition with the words that the winner is currently Trump.
"Death and triumph are dangerously close together in the USA. Political violence will hardly leave the election campaign this year - against all reason. Coincidences sometimes decide the course of history. The bullet that a young man fired at Donald Trump from the roof of a building on Saturday missed its target by a few centimetres. But it was just enough to leave a few splashes of blood on his face. The images of this will certainly go down in the history books: a Trump surrounded by security guards turning to his supporters and raising his fist in a fighting gesture. Seconds after escaping death, he sends a powerful message to the country with his phenomenal instinct for media appearances: "I am strong, I am indomitable."
