Despite being ranked 24th on the list, the Bern-SVP representative Ernst Wandfluh still managed to make it into the eight-member Bern-SVP delegation, according to an analysis by the news agency Keystone-SDA based on data from the Federal Statistical Office. This shows that a good list position is not a guarantee of success in the elections to the National Council. Anna Rosenwasser (SP/ZH) experienced a similarly steep rise. The LGBTQ activist started the election on the 20th place on the list. She ended up in eighth place of the eight-member SP representation from the canton of Zurich. The English acronym LGBTQ stands for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans and queer people. At the age of 26, Katja Riem of the Bern SVP became the youngest representative to be elected, jumping from the 19th place on the list to the sixth rank of eight elected from her party. ©Keystone/SDA
