The GFS Bern Institute has released a projection of the results of the Swiss National Council elections in the Canton of Bern. According to the projection, the Swiss People's Party (SVP) would remain the largest party with eight seats, while the Social Democratic Party (SP) would gain one seat, bringing their total to five. The Green Liberal Party (GLP) would become the third largest party with three seats. The Green Party (GPS) would suffer the greatest losses, losing two seats and leaving them with two. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the Centre Party would remain with two seats each, while the Bern Evangelical People's Party (EVP) and the Bern Education Party (EDU) would retain one seat each. Manfred Bühler, President of the SVP Canton Bern, expressed his satisfaction with the projection, but cautioned against overconfidence. Brigitte Hilty Haller, Co-President of the Green Party Canton Bern, expressed concern about a potential shift to the right, which could lead to less attention being paid to issues such as climate change and gender equality. The final results will be announced by Canton Secretary Christoph Auer between 9 and 11 pm at the Bern City Hall.
