The disruption to the railway line between Basel and Olten in the Oberbaselbiet region on Wednesday evening has been resolved. According to SBB, the connection between Liestal and Lausen has been restored. However, delays and cancellations are still expected. The disruption was caused by a cable fault that occurred during construction work in the Liestal BL railway station. S-Bahn, Interregio and Intercity trains on this route were affected, as were freight trains. Passengers travelling between Basel SBB and Luzern, Arth-Goldau, Bellinzona, Lugano and Milano Centrale had to take the detour via Zurich Hauptbahnhof. Those travelling to or from Olten had to first go to Brugg in the canton of Aargau. The same applied to passengers from and to Lenzburg and Aarau. The cable fault has now been fixed and the railway line between Basel and Olten is running again.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
