Train Derailment Causes Short-Term Delays in the Waadt.

On Sunday, a gravel transport wagon derailed between Ependes (VD) and Yverdon-les-Bains (VD). There were no injuries and the traffic was able to resume after about an hour. The incident, reported at around 3.40 pm, caused a disruption in the train service between Lausanne and Yverdon-les-Bains. Replacement buses were used between Ependes and Yverdon. By 5 pm, the trains were running normally again. The derailment occurred on a track that was already closed due to construction work. However, inspections were carried out to ensure that no damage was done to the tracks used by passengers. The cause of the derailment is still being investigated.
