Travailsuisse calls for AHV financing via wage contributions

VAT is being increased primarily to relieve the federal budget and reduce the federal contribution, Travailsuisse pointed out after the proposed financing of the 13th AHV pension was announced. The complete financing via VAT is not comprehensible, it said in a press release.
This means that it is primarily people with low incomes who would pay the price for the 13th AHV pension, the umbrella organization of employees in Switzerland writes further.
Travailsuisse therefore called on parliament to correct this. "Financing via salary contributions must be put back on the table," Edith Siegenthaler, Head of Social Policy at Travailsuisse, was quoted as saying in the communiqué. "But to do this, we first need the correct figures from the forecasts for AHV finances."
