TREND: Yes majority in Basel-Stadt for the 13th AHV pension

In the canton of Basel-Stadt, a clear yes to the initiative for a 13th AHV right is emerging after the postal votes have been counted. However, the proposal to increase the AHV retirement age is likely to be rejected.
64.4 percent of postal voters said yes to the 13th AHV pension. The initiative to raise the retirement age to 66 received 71.8 percent of no votes.
Postal votes account for over 90 percent of the total number of votes in Basel-Stadt. The trend report is therefore considered reliable.
