Before and after the Street Parade, the Zurich cantonal police checked around 180 drivers on the 3W highway and at various locations in the district of Uster. Twelve vehicles were driven by people who were unfit to drive, the police reported on Sunday.

Seven of them were in a condition that did not allow them to continue driving. Their driving licenses were confiscated on the spot. In addition, twelve people were reported to the police and over 20 administrative fines were issued.

In addition to dozens of police officers, narcotics detection dogs were also deployed. Their fine noses led to several seizures of small quantities of narcotics such as cocaine, marijuana, MDMA and crystal meth.

The checks took place on Saturday morning and on Sunday night.
