Two fatalities in accident involving minibus on A1 near Frauenkappelen BE

Two people died in an accident on the A1 highway near Frauenkappelen BE on Saturday. A minibus collided with the crash barrier and the deer fence at the Mühleberg highway exit, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Sunday.
One passenger was thrown out of the minibus by the force of the impact, the police reported. He was left seriously injured on the road and died of his injuries at the scene. A second passenger also died.
Two other passengers were injured in the accident and taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver and another passenger were uninjured.
The minibus with six occupants was traveling in the direction of Bern when it left the road on a left-hand bend shortly after 1:00 pm. The A1 highway between Kerzers and Bern-Brünnen was closed for several hours for the rescue and clean-up work, according to the police.
