The Thurgau State Prosecutor has filed murder charges against two men for the 2007 shooting and subsequent sinking of a 27-year-old Egyptian in the Barchetsee near Oberneunform. The charges are against a 62-year-old Swiss man and a 58-year-old Italian man, both of whom are accused of luring their victim to a forest near Frauenfeld under false pretenses and then shooting him multiple times, with the last shot being aimed at his head. The body was later found in the Barchetsee, weighted down with a 30-kilogram concrete element. Neither of the suspects have confessed to the crime. The State Prosecutor has requested that the 62-year-old Swiss man be held in security detention, while the other suspect is not currently in custody. The case was reopened in March 2022 after previous investigations had been unsuccessful. The police then appealed to the public through the television show "Aktenzeichen XY ungelöst", which led to the suspects being identified. The exact sentence will be determined at the trial.nnnnnnnn
