University of Zurich gives squatters ultimatum until 5 pm

The University of Zurich will not tolerate the pro-Palestine demonstration on its premises: It has set the occupiers a deadline of 5 pm. If people remain on site for longer, the university intends to file a criminal complaint with the police.
A few dozen pro-Palestine demonstrators have been sitting in the university atrium since Tuesday morning. They set up a buffet with drinks and food and played music in the atrium. However, the sit-in must be cleared by 5 p.m., as the university announced in the afternoon.
As at other universities, the Zurich protesters demanded a clear position from their university: the University of Zurich has a duty to break the silence on human rights violations, they said. They also demanded an academic boycott of Israeli institutions and companies "that are involved in the genocide in any way".
