The Valais police have taken two speeders off the road in the past few days. The two motorcyclists were each traveling at almost 70 km/h too fast on the roads.

A 41-year-old motorcyclist from Great Britain was driving on the Nufenenstrasse in Ulrichen last Sunday at a speed of 148 km/h on this section, which is restricted to 80 km/h, as reported by the Valais cantonal police on Friday. He was banned from driving in Switzerland. The police also collected a guaranteed fine of CHF 2,600 from him.

The next day, a 19-year-old Swiss motorcyclist was caught on radar at a speed of 116 km/h on the Avenue de Fully in Martigny, which has a speed limit of 50 km/h. In addition to a heavy fine and the withdrawal of his driving license for at least two years, the motorcyclist faces a prison sentence of one to four years.

The two speeders were reported to the Road Traffic and Navigation Department and the public prosecutor's office.
