The EU's expenses regulations are not applicable to Switzerland. The Federal Council, the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) and the social partners are in agreement on this, Seco State Secretary Helene Budliger Artieda told the media in Bern on Friday.
The first task now is to find a solution for the expenses regulation with the EU in the foreign policy process. If this does not succeed, which everyone would regret, domestic policy measures would have to be taken, as Budliger Artieda added.
This would require "going back over the books" and looking at what compensation options are available. There is not always agreement between the four partners on these measures. These are "difficult technical clarifications".
