Measured in Swiss francs, Swiss watch manufacturers exported fewer watches abroad in October compared to the same month last year. This continues the trend of recent months.

Swiss watch exports fell by 2.2 percent year-on-year to 2.34 billion Swiss francs in October, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) announced on Tuesday. Over the first ten months, exports totaled 21.5 billion Swiss francs. That is a drop of 2.6 percent.

Once again, the Chinese market was a major negative factor with a drop of almost 39%, while sales to Hong Kong also fell by a further 15%. Meanwhile, the largest market, the USA, grew by more than 11%.
