Well-known Flims mountain restaurant Foppa burnt down completely

The well-known Foppa mountain restaurant on the edge of the Flims-Laax ski area in Graubünden burnt down completely on Wednesday evening. The cause of the fire is still unclear and is being investigated. The damage to property exceeds one million francs. No one was injured.
The fire in the former mountain railway station at 1430 meters above sea level was noticed at around 20:30, as reported by the Graubünden cantonal police on Thursday. Until the fire department arrived, workers from a nearby construction site tried to extinguish the fire. Despite everything, the flames spread to the entire building.
The fire department was unable to prevent the mountain restaurant from burning down completely. However, all the surrounding buildings and trees in the vicinity were protected. The extinguishing work lasted until after midnight. A fire watch was then set up.
